Entropy Radiator problems

I would like to share my story with all of you about the problems I have been having with my Entropy Radiator. In December of 2016 I ordered a radiator/fan/controller kit to go with my LS swap in my 87 Suburban.

When I ordered it they asked me what size my radiator was. When it arrived I realized was the wrong size and would not fit. I admit I incorrectly told them the wrong size when I ordered it. I called them back and explained that I incorrectly gave them the wrong size. They said no problem send it back and for an extra $100 they could make me one a little bigger that would fit, so I sent it back. Almost 3 weeks later I got the radiator back, and noticed the fill neck was crushed and pushed into the radiator.

Instead of waiting 3 more weeks and paying $80 for return shipping I had it fixed locally for $50. When I went to install it realized it was still too short. I ended up fabricating some brackets and made it work. 18 months later the radiator started leaking from two areas. I called them and they offered to fix it under warranty. I paid to send it back to them.

Two weeks later they sent my new radiator, with two problems. 1. they sent me the shorter radiator instead of the taller one that I needed. 2. there is nowhere to attach the fans to at the bottom. See top two photos.
I called them and they offered to ship it back to them (at their cost thankfully). I didn't hear anything for a week and then I called them, I was assured my radiator was in line to get built and that it would be the correct size. I asked to make sure there would be someway to attach the fans at the bottom and I was assured there would be.

2 and a half weeks later (this past Friday) I got the radiator back. It is the correct size and will fit the brackets I had to make, but there is STILL no way to attach the fans at the bottom (see bottom two photos) and now they moved the fill neck to the passenger side which means I will have to run a very long and ugly hose across my motor to my overflow tank.

I am beyond frustrated at this point. I am worried if I send it back I might get one problem fixed but may get another problem when it gets back. Plus I don't want to wait another 2 weeks to get another radiator.
At this point I would like them to next day air the radiator back to them, fix it the same day and next day air it back to me. Does that sound unreasonable?
I am of course going to call them first thing on Monday when they open, and will let everyone here know the outcome.
Sorry for the long rant, just frustrated after paying all this money for a hassle free direct fit radiator.

I'm thinking I should have gone a different route now, or at least had one made locally so that if I have a problem I'm waiting a few days instead of weeks/months.

I will report back here on Monday to let everyone know how they decide to handle this.

Re: Entropy Radiator problems

Update:
Talked to them today and turns out my old shroud wound not work with the new radiator. They are sending me the correct shroud to bolt my existing fans to.
I’m going to have to run a pretty long overflow tank hose, due to the fill kneck now being on the driver’s side. Will that cause any problems?

This is the new shroud they are sending:

Re: Entropy Radiator problems

I used a single big flute from oreillys..I think the flute is like 1 1/4 -1 1/2" wide...for fans I'm using dual elec from summit....

Re: Entropy Radiator problems

Just to add an update: My radiator is leaking again! It lasted about 18 months/4000 miles before it started leaking again. I will call them again this morning, and start the very long expensive process of sending it back to them and hopefully get the right parts back.
I will provide updates as I can.

Re: Entropy Radiator problems

Update:
Sorry for the delay if anyone is interested.
After they had the radiator for two weeks, I called to check on it, and they told me they wouldn’t cover it under warranty because my leak was due to electrolysis. And offered to make me a new radiator for 1/2 price. I was very skeptical of this as I only had about 4000 miles on the radiator since they sent it to me last time. Plus I used new AC Delco premixed coolant. I also have grounds ran from the negative terminal on the battery to the block, frame, and radiator support. And additional grounds on the other side from the block to the firewall and block to frame. I didn’t have any leverage to argue with them So I paid for a new radiator. I stressed to them during every conversation I needed the taller (20”) radiator for an LS swapped truck, and to please compare it to the one I sent in to make sure the shroud would bolt up. Later in the afternoon I got a confirmation email but noticed the part number was for the standard radiator and not the LS swap one. I called back and was told “oh yeah we changed the part#”, I again said ok as long as it is for an LS swap, 20” tall and my shroud bolts up. He assured me it would be correct.

I got my tracking # last Friday and it is supposed to be delivered Wed Nov 6. I will post back and let you know if they got it right which at this point I really suspect they won’t.

Sorry to rant, but wanted to share my story and inform people of what has happened with this situation. I don’t want to slander them, as I have worked in customer service and experienced first hand sometimes the more you try to make something right, the more keeps going wrong.

Re: Entropy Radiator problems

I've had the same aluminum radiator in my truck for 10 years and it's still clean as new. Do you have an anode? If not, the radiator will be the meal for electrolysis. Coolant alone won't prevent it.

Thanks for the heads up. I will get one of those.
Dumb question: Where do I install it at? I believe there was an unused threaded hole on the radiator. if not how do I install it?

Update: UPS is delivering it today. At this point I will be absolutely amazed if the radiator is: 1. the right size, 2. For an LS swap, 3. I can bolt my fans to it.

I will post another update once it arrives.

Re: Entropy Radiator problems

After my last post I remembered seeing this (circled In red) on my radiator I sent back to them that they claim was damaged from electrolysis.
Could that have been a zinc anode?

Re: Entropy Radiator problems

Hard to tell. It's either a plug for the internal trans cooler (if equipped) or an anode.

Re: Entropy Radiator problems

They sent me the right radiator!!!
It’s for an LS swap, the right height, and they even included a new shroud.
It has the little brass looking plug in it also. I’m going to remove it and see if it is a zinc anode. If it is and my old one had one too, I need them to explain to me how electrolysis happened with the anode, and under 4k miles.
Going to install this weekend. It’s going to be nice to have my truck back after two months of being down.

I just read through your thread for the first time. It sucks after spending that much money on a radiator to have it fail after 4000 miles. I used one of there radiators in my LS swapped 66 C10 I loved it. I hope this replacement works out for you.
I bought a stock big block radiator for my Square Body C10 that I'm doing an LS swap in.

Re: Entropy Radiator problems

Update.
since I made this post, my radiator started leaking in February this year. I sent it back and got it back quick (about 3 weeks). and last week it started leaking again. I sent it back to them on Monday.
I have lost count now, I believe I am up to 7 or 8 times now I have had to send this back.

Re: Entropy Radiator problems

Concerning to read the troubles you had with their radiator. I also have one of the radiators for my LS3 swapped 2 Wheel Dr. blazer. The anode on the radiator I have has a place to mount a ground wire or a strap to ground that anode. These radiators (on my Blazer) are rubber mounted so they do not get a ground for that anode otherwise.
