Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Not a truck but something to go on it I drove 7 hours each way to get it, so I wasn't coming home without it, but I think it is too big for my needs. It really is in nice shape for its age, and my C/20 had no issues pulling it. I just need something that does not hang over to I can pull a trailer as well.

69 C20 flatbed $3K https://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/ct...227361928.html

72 C30 dual ramp 402/4-spd original white paint/blue interior $10.5K https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/ct...207669590.html

Beautifully restored 480 paint (wht/dk yellow deluxe 2-tone) 72 Cheyenne $24.9K and appears worth every penny, wow.. Personally, with a resto THAT nice, I'd stick the steelies and PO1s back on there. Pretty darn sweet truck. https://houston.craigslist.org/cto/d...216130274.html

That dk yellow truck is awesome. I agree, it appears worth every penny.

I love the period correct camper but I don't have a heavy enough truck to put it on. Good luck with your sale. I'm sure someone will be proud to own it.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

I passed on this, but it's a nice tailgate. I passed due to some gravel damage along the bottom. It's otherwise in real nice shape. There's some rust where some of the holes are, but it's just on the surface. https://reno.craigslist.org/pts/6231846141.html

Only difference from my "sample" tailgate is there's not a drain hole at the bottom center? In other terms, for whatever it means, it has six holes in the bottom instead of seven.

Not a truck, but a nice looking 72 gmc suburban with highlander upholstery. I don't know if they made highlander burbs, but it'd be cool if they did.
The burb claims to be a 71 - didn't think they made plaid anything in 71. But, that kinda looks like a 72 to me.. Might want to confirm the vin before registering this one. Nice burb.

Yup, ad title says 71. The vin supplied in ad says it's a 72. I am trying to get some pictures (one of SPID requested). We will see!

Gone...sold it today. Shoot!

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Here is one maybe Chevyland will want to haul back all his 72 Cheyennes in. Not a little truck like ours, a HD 1972 C50. Cool that they used the pickup dash

https://www.truckpaper.com/listings/...-chevrolet-c50

Looks like pleny of room for a Cheyenne in the back! Now to just get it up in there!

Not bad for 2950 bucks..

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

The white over dark yellow from Houston is a good looking truck for sure. I find it weird that the instrument panel looks restored but the only needle they didn't paint was the speedometer. Yes I'm nitpicking. Just seems odd to me. If you're going to the trouble to restore it. Why leave the speedometer unpainted. All the other needles appear to have been painted. Did they leave it unpainted to give the appearance that it was original and unaltered? If so, it's a fail for me.

Since someone else is nitpicking I will add my favorite complaint that jumped out on me with this truck. If someone does such an overall restoration why do they still insist on painting the inside of the bed with that awful black goop instead of the original painted color of the rest of the truck? I can understand that if your truck is just a daily user you might want to cover the bed and all its dents with the bedliner stuff-- but why use it on a nice truck like this? Just wondering. I am sure it is all just personal taste. I love the color BTW.

I'm with you on the bedliner crap. I prefer a bed mat. Problem is you can't find them anymore. The last ones you could buy that fit 67-72 were actually for the 73-87 trucks. I've been look for one for my 70 GMC longbed but no luck.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Was air conditioning even available in a C30? Plus that's alot of volume to keep cool. GM may have decided it wasn't worth the trouble as not enough people would be willing to pay for it. I was a kid in Nevada back then and I remember lots buildings that didn't have A/C, ( unless it was a casino) there were lots of swamp coolers. People knew it as an expensive luxury.

Just thinking of air for the cab, the camper would have had a unit on top or would have been upgraded later in life.. I have not seen one of these campers with AC in the cab yet..
