Re: 60-66 Flatbed Pics

I have seen a lot of flat beds with the rounded corners and stake holders...were those factory flatbeds or aftermarket? Like this one.

I'm going to guess, maybe someone else will know for sure, but I worked at a place right out of highschool for a short time who put utility bodies and the such on trucks. The trucks came new without beds and we put on boxes and such. I'm guessing the gm factory didn't make the flatbeds or anything other than the stock beds. You may have been able to order it the way you want it, but someone other than the gm factory made the flatbeds.

Thanks! That is what I thought too, but then the more I googled the more I saw this exact same flatbed on several different trucks and even on multiple pictures in this thread. So maybe someone out there still makes this bed. I am in process of buying a running 64 GMC Dually, cab and chassis and want to put a flatbed on it like the one pictured. I like the rounded corners...I think it looks period correct. So the quest begins...but I won't start working on it until I finish my other truck...in about a month.

Re: 60-66 Flatbed Pics

I did some more searching and found this picture from this thread. It looks like the one from the above pictures. Interesting!
