My issue (knocking) seemed to magically resolve itself for the time being. I am running the heck out of it driving it every day (24K miles now this year). I have no plans to replace the motor until it dies and then I will go with a stock 5.3 rather than a 4.8. Right now I am throwing a P0175 code I can't seem to get rid of but it is running pretty well.

Glad to hear it's running better and that you're driving the wheels off it!

That sounds like a difficult code to diagnose. Oxygen sensor? MAF sensor? My truck started running rough and I'm working through troubleshooting now as it seems to be running really rich so I'm going to clean the MAF sensor, check for any vacuum line issues, and keep tuning. I'm getting good readings from my O2 sensors so I've eliminated that as a possibility.
