Looked at this truck today

-
I went and looked at this truck this afternoon. It isn't advertised anywhere. It has the usual Iowa rust and has been sitting for quite a few years. It is only 7 miles from me. They want $1500 for it. It isn't in the best shape but I would say it is saveable. It was originally a 3 speed manual but someone installed a floor shifter in it.

This Suburban is in the same building.

If I were closer I would grab it....

They are getting harder to get every day...especially ones that are essentially unmolested...

I spotted another one right here in town the other day that I had never seen before. (1700 people) I am going to see if I can find the owner tomorrow if it isn't raining.

I agree with you. Its the same in most of Western PA. If that truck was in our area, they would be asking 5K. It all depends on location.

I'd be scooping that thing up at that price! Especially since that is my exact project and a second one is always better, right?

Short bed step-side, all one color original paint? Oh yeah, grab it Doc! For that I'd be tempted to make a road trip from STL.

That actually looks in good shape. Paid 1500 for my C30 and towed it from another state. 7 miles away is close. Get a friend to help you push it home

Yep that would be a $7500 truck in my area... If barn finds in my area ever existed, that is. I wish I had the networking skills to find these off-the-web deals!

Re: Looked at this truck today

Those 1 year only stepside fenders are not being reproduced and are highly sought after. The Suburban looks really solid, maybe make a package deal on the pair? If you have the room to store them I cant see how you could go wrong.

Thanks for the input guys. I don't need to be in a hurry on this so I am thinking on it. I have a few things working against me right at the moment...

Hey Rob,

I have plenty of room to store them. The suburban has rust around the bottom. Problem is I can't get down far enough to take lower pictures or slide underneath because of my recent back surgery.

I couldn't put a price on that truck because you would never, ever, not in a million years find one like that up here.

If that bed is in good shape I'd say its worth the asking price. I have a super nice set of 68-72 fenders for my 67 project but I'd really like to find some 67 step fenders and not modify the ones I have.

If I were closer and Loc didn't want it I'm with many in that I'd be all over it.
