Is this worth it? 1970 K5! UPDATE! MUST READ!!!

UPDATE!!! READ MY LAST THREAD!!!

First, I wanted to say I was a member of this forum a couple of years ago, and it's a great site... I sold my blazer and my account went dorment... Well, I have a chance to get another one, for what I feel is a decent deal.

1970 K5 CST - $1,500 as is

350 motor- Owner unsure of year; not original. Original manifold, distributor, carb, etc. Possibly getting a little tired

TH350- Fresh rebuild

Top is a double pain top; glass is in good shape

It is what it is... Without further ado-

It looks like it is a '71(judging by the door panels and the grill). $1500 sounds like a decent deal to me. Interesting that it has an AC dash, but no signs of AC under the hood.

Welcome back!

It is a 70 with a 72 grille I believe. It was a CST originally, so it did have AC... It of course was gutted.

I am thinking some quick and dirty body work- some new rockers, rear quarters and filling in the trim, some sanding and priming... Then off to Earl Shieb or Maco for the $400 especial. Probably rebuild the motor and heads and it's a go!!!

It's resto is going to have to wait, but I at least want to be able to cruise it a little bit in the meantime. I live in SoCali with a strict Homeowner's Association- the last thing I want is someone giving me a hard time about the thing based on how it looks now...

Your probably right on the year. I just noticed the side mirrors are 69-70 and if it was/is a CST, it probably would have a chrome front bumper.

Not true, to my understanding. I said the same exact thing when i was new to this site. Mine is a CST also, but no AC. CST i believe was mostly a trim package?!? Good luck just the same!!! John

Here (In the South) that truck looks like it is plenty worth it. It is kinda funny how it has an ac dash, but he heater box looks non ac. I'd check the windshield frame for rust. Good luck.

Redz, looks like a good deal to me, let me know if you don't pick it up. After seeing my 72 at the office a bunch this spring and summer, a few co-workers have been looking for first-gens for themselves!

And what kind of center console is that???

Looks like a good buy to me too. You can see where they screwed a plate over the firewall by the heater box, to do away with the AC.

Ya gotta exact address for where it is? I may run over and get it while yur cogitatin'. I payed $2000 for one in worse shape than that one 15 years ago, knowing it needed an engine rebuild! AND with no top. I'm still daily driving that beast today (60,000 miles after engine overhaul), and it still looks worse. Sissy homeowners assn be danged, and get a life!

WHOLLY CRAP you guys!!! You are NOT going to believe this. So, I was getting the cash together to buy this Blazer. Well, I checked the local paper, and there was a 1972 Blazer in there... I called on it. IT'S MY OLD BLAZER!!!

I haven't been in the market until just about 2 weeks ago. Then, coincidentally the guy who bought my old blazer is going out east, and is SELLING IT! He has upgraded it since I had it- new radiator, electric fans, spray in liner, stereo and more... He's gonna sell it to me for a cheap price...

If that isn't fate, I don't know what is.

I should be picking up my new 'old' blazer tomorrow. I am in HEAVEN right now... I can barely type. How many people get second chances? When I get it this time, I am not selling it!!!

Here it is, without further ado-
