School shooting Marysville

This isn't a guns or no guns blah blah political thread, OK?

I've been watching this story on the news. I went to this school, my sons went to this school, and obviously many of my friends and their kids went there.

I didn't know the shooters immediate family, but I did know many of his extended family members ... Crazy when this kind of thing happens so close to you.

Re: School shooting Marysville

Gun debate aside, there is one thing most of the mass shooters have in cmmon. The were nearly all taking or had taken psychotropic drugs. Maybe this is due to the failed mental health policies or just to parents wanting a cure for juvenile actions? I don't know that this is the case in this instance but it bears investigation.

Re: School shooting Marysville

I heard a interview a classmate said he had asked a girl for a date and she refused him. I think she also might be the girl that died. No matter what it was it's a tragic situation.

Re: School shooting Marysville

They were going through this kids twitter feed and it was pretty bad.

These days there are so many social things via computer kids do, I think good parenting would be to monitor these sites. Kids wont like it but, its a different world from when we were kids ... well when I was a kid anyway (geeze I'm getting old).

Re: School shooting Marysville

Two of the kid's he shot were his own cousin's.....Why don't they just shoot themselves and be done with it.
I sometimes wonder if we shouldn't put it out to the news media. It seems to be copycat stuff. I know they (media) would find out anyway.
There's no justification or answers like everyone tries to figure out why...Why is he had a screw loose....why else would you do something like that.
And, the tool used to complete the act of the insane person takes the brunt of the blame.

Possible undiagnosed brain injury?

I played football in the 70s. I read about people my age having problems because of brain injures suffered at a young age.

Re: School shooting Marysville

This stuff trips me out. Where is the disconnect that stop these kids from realizing the consequences of what they are doing? Obviously once dead there aren't any consequences for the person pulling the trigger but how do you lose touch with reality that all those around you will suffer? I did some dumb sh!t and got into fights. I was never bullied more than once by the same person but it never crossed my mind to take a gun to school and start shooting. I would have had my choice of guns to use but I knew better. Where is the disconnect? Wtf is wrong with these kids?

Im honestly starting to think a lot of stuff is stemming from kids being told that its not ok to fight back. They finally hit a point where they just snap. Kids aren't allowed to be kids. Boys will fight with each other and be best friends the next week but that's not allowed anymore. Kids are handed pills for acting like kids and its nonsense.

Im doing my best to stay not political but its real hard.
