Side moulding question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Today I got all of the exterior Trim removed from my '69,both the upper and lower. After getting it off the truck it is in pretty rough shape and I was thinking of buying all new trim. I am going to get the truck painted and my paint & body guy told me the old trim would look even worse on a new paint job.
I was wanting to get options on where I should look to get new trim.

LMC truck has the moulding kits.. But I am sure there are other places.

I hear Mar-K is really nice and made in the USA.

Second that on mar-k you will pay for it but the quality is excellent from what I've read on here.

Actually the Mar-K stuff really isn't much more expensive than the stuff anybody else is selling, and is cheaper than LMC and some others.

When I was looking for new moldings I found that the Mar-K stuff was significantly more expensive. I just went and double checked and for a 69 Longbed Fleetside - Through LMC Truck it'd be just shy of $600, where as Mar-K is a tad over $1000.

I can't speak to quality as I haven't seen either in person.

A roll of the woodgrain tape will go a long way towards freshening up older trim strips.

Mar-K upper and lower are being installed on my 70', I caught them during a 10% off sale. They do free shipping also, very nice quality!!!

I went this route on my 72', if your trim is in good shape and you are willing to put in some time, they turnout well for a daily driver. Tip, a screen spline tool works well in getting out some of those dings in the trim....

I'd go with Mar-K, my dad bought some bed panels from them and the quality is top notch.

I polished my old ones up, Then took them to a local Vinyl shop, and they cut and installed new black vinyl on them.. they turned out great!!

I may be wrong on the '69 - '72 trim. I haven't priced them. I know the Mar-K 67-68 trim is $640 for a complete side trim kit, and that's pretty to what everybody is getting for the 67-68 trim.

I bought mine for my Jimmy at the Truck Shop. It is Counterpart Brand and looks to be pretty good quality. I just checked and for a SWB Wood Grain lower Molding set with the early style fasteners (no adhesive strips) is $400.00 and the upper trim is $255.00.
