Re: off it goes

I've been watching this thread for awhile.

I am totally amazed at the time, talent and treasure it takes to go to THIS level.

You've coming up on 7 years since the start. Is it difficult to say, "enough is enough"?

Do you ever step back and say, "this thing is never gonna get done"?

How do you keep motivated? Do you ever wish you never started?

The quality of work is mind blowing! I can't wait to see it "done".

There is days I feel that way....but I knew it would be a long road, the truck only gets about 12 hrs a week on it

Answer #1 It's been 5 yrs. This Thread was started before the actual truck build began
Answer #2 Crown Royal and no I don't regret it
Answer #3 Some days yes, but when we get something perfected and completed then no
I set out to build a badass C10 but like everything I do it has to be perfect...I've always loved these trucks and there is a lot nice ones out there but I set you to try and set the bar.

thanks man....

Re: off it goes

Looking good! I DO NOT envy you on all that block sanding...but it is what is needed for a top notch finish.

Re: off it goes

I've heard people say "if you have to ask how much, you can't afford it" but I gotta know. What does it cost to get this level of detail in paint/body work?

Even at 24% off the dollar there is a lot of Loonies there!!
But it is all earned, and will show in the end product

It's all in the hours, shops charge anywhere from 60-100 bucks an hour. If you're doing your own work the satisfaction of a job well done is priceless.

Re: off it goes

it's only money...you make it everyday and you spend it everyday, lol. I'm very fortunate that my buddy is amazing fabrication and body man, that helps, the shop rate he has given me is not anywhere close to the above rates mentioned. So even though we have put a lot of time and money into the truck....I would think there is guys out there that have spent more money on a lesser quality truck. The truck is not worked on fully through the week....there is times it might get 10-12 hours there is times where it might not get touched, thus the reason for the timeline on the build. I am such a perfectionist with everything that I know when this is done I won't be saying "I wish I had of". We have planned every step along the way and are always looking to the next step and trying to stay ahead of all the scenario's that arise with custom builds like this.

Re: off it goes

I love what you're doing, but what I want to know is HOW are you doing it? Like how in the world did you roll those beads etc??? I don't have access to a body guy, so without knowing how to do it a build like this is totally beyond my reach

Re: off it goes

Amazing work! I still remember when I saw this truck listed on Ebay in it's original state with the inline 6. Hard to believe you're taking that truck and making it better but you are, you're making it WORLDS better! Keep it up man!
