Post Interchangeable parts from a 1980 to a 1969 Chevy

I have a 1980 Chevy I’m parting out an scrapping. My question is what parts if any are interchangeable with my 1969 . For my ‘69 I need a bench seat, A/C, P/S, Power Brakes an front disc brakes. All of which my 1980 has an cold easily swap over. Sorry for the dumb question but just got this 1969 project an it’s been 20 years since my last one.

Easily is a relative term but MOST parts will swap.

The Disc brakes will swap. You will probably want to swap the rear end also because it would have the same 5 lug rotor/hubs. Your 1969 has 6 lug rotors.

Power steering should swap.

Bench seat should swap.

The A/C is NOT going to swap easily (if at all).

note: I'm not an expert on square body trucks (ie 1980). So some of my info might be wrong.

The gearbox and the pump should both swap easily.

Steering wheel, back glass maybe?, front xmember is a bolt in swap, seat if you change to your 69 brackets. Im sure there is more.

The 69 has a short water pump and brackets, so if you use the 80 pump for the PS it will require the short pump brackets. And it MIGHT require the short pump reservoir as well.

Brake booster swap. It "can" fit but you'll need a saw, welder, tape measure and a sharpie marker. Plus you need to learn how to cuss, swear and hold your tongue just right. I did it 14+ years ago and it's still going strong.

Re: Interchangeable parts from a 1980 to a 1969 Chevy

plenty of threads here on the disc swaps.. .30+ yrs ago i swapped in the entire front xmember for the brakes so a little fuzzy in the details....re-used the early center link ,box and idler and had to come up with a mix of tie rod parts to adapt to the square body spindles....but for all i know all the square body stuff would have fit, the x member just didnt come with them....think i had to modify the lower shock mount on the arm so it lined up better... again check the threads cause there are other ways to do this without putting in the whole xmember....i was lucky as my 70 used the same length rear axles as the later ones, but i believe your 69 had shorter axles (provided it still actually has its original rear...a lot can happen in over 40 yrs....just measure between the backing plates.... if one truck is coil spring and the other leaf you'll have to weld on perches and shock mounts to swap rears
