Rear Hatch Hardware Pictures????

I have been driving my Blazer around for about thirteen years with the rear hatch bouncing back and forth because all of the hardware was missing when I bought it. Last week I bought all of the rear hatch hardware. Now that I have it, I am not sure how it all goes together. Does anyone have pictures from the T-handle to the ends? I think I can figure out the T-handle and support bracket, rods and latches, but there are two other small parts that are not the same that I don't have a clue as to where they go. Any pics or ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks David

Thanks Bobby! That part I have figured out. I will try to post pictures tomorrow of the two pieces that I am unsure of, unless someone else posts more pictures beforehand.

Nice job with the kotter pins to hold the arms. I looked all over for the actual clips to hold them in place. I finally found some at a chev dealer in a small town that had stock still from years back. I only bought 1/2 dozen and should have bought all of them.

To the left of the springloaded thingymajiggers, above the T-handle spring thingymajigger. I hope I spelled thingymajigger correct. Thanks David

Re: Rear Hatch Hardware Pictures????

Thanks! That helps tremendously. One last question, In your photograph, there are two identical pieces above the T-handle spring thingymajigger and there is one piece to the left that is almost identical, but smaller. In the set that I bought, I have one large piece and one of the small pieces, Is this correct and if so, which goes on which side or did evil bay get me and I got a mismatched set? Thanks again!!! David

Those cover the bolts on the latch mechanism.

The smaller rubber tipped ones are bumpers and go here(I didn't reinstall mine)

Re: Rear Hatch Hardware Pictures????

this is a GREAT thread that should go into the blazer's/jimmy thread area and FAQ index. Thanks to all that posted as it helped me figure out mine I'm doing today (4 years after the original thread)

Re: Rear Hatch Hardware Pictures????

Where Can I purchase the rear hatch hardware? I just got a 1971 Blazer but it has no hardware installed, in fact some had fiberglassed in the outside holes.

Re: Rear Hatch Hardware Pictures????

Almost all have to be purchased original.
OEM originals are very hard to find because there are reproductions(repops) of only a few different parts. Most there are no reproductions.
So demand with low supply
Use the Parts Board on this Forum.

There is a center mechanism there right now!!!!

You need to buy quickly on the Parts Board, or you will lose out to the others.

I just went through this for along time.
Because I am restoring a 72 GMC Jimmy.

Will do some other responses later with more info.

Terry

With the connecting rods in these pictures …. Is one rod up and one down? Or are they both up? Hard to tell with the rod on the backside…

Thanks in advance

Nevermind. Looked at the pic closer, you can tell they’re both up!
