The wife and I are taking off in 2 weeks to take in the Viva Las Vegas show so I am guessing that will light even more of a fire under my ass to get it finished. I'm shooting for Mid May to have to it done and ready to roll again

Re: 1959 fleetside build

Finally got a chance to go out work on the bed. I got the hinged bed floor figured out. I just wanted a simple hinge that did the job. I went with a helm joint set up.

I just love the look of this entire build. What do you plan on putting for the bed floor?

Re: 1959 fleetside build

thanks guys.

255/60/15 were the tires before the white walls

I am some 10" boards across it, no strips, and screwed from the bottom so you see no bolts. atleast that's the plan now. it may change.

sweet ride man. Just read all the way through. Are you planning on leaving it patina'd or painting it? Have you got the engine running yet?

thanks. all the rust will be repaired but leaving the patina on the outside. working on cab corners and rockers now. I am going to try to match the blue and fade it in.

Re: 1959 fleetside build

Finally got some time to work on the truck. I replaced the rockers on both sides (Spot welds on these trucks sucks) and I got one cab corner in. Hopefully this weekend I will be ready to take the cab off and clean up underneath and sandblast the interior to prep for paint.

Let me know if you need anything. I have a 50lb siphon sand blaster, a 110lb pressure blaster, a hand held spot blaster and a blast cabinet. You are welcome to any of it.
