Looking to purchase a half top for a '74 Blaser. Are there such a thing/ and what do they sell for?
Thanks Dan

Are you talking about a pickup truck conversion kind of thing?

If not, then all 73-75 (maybe 76 too) Blazers had a fully removeable hard top...from there on up they were removeable from the rear of the front seats back.

Blaser top

Thanks, Guys
To my knowledge there is a 1/2 top and a full top that was available from 1973-75 for the Blaser. I was interested in availablty and value of a used top.
Thanks

I had a 73 and a 82 blazer, I would use the 82 top on the 73 blazer.
People just hthought I cut the top.
But it does fit

Re: Blaser top

The Blazer/Jimmys never had anything but a full top hardtop. The aftermarket did offer a pickup top conversion, but GM didn't.

I have seen a thread and pics on these boards for a fiberglass pick up style top that was for sale I believe on the '73-87 Parts board' sometime this summer. As Captkaos indicates, it's probably not GM, but looked very similar to the hardtop available on C-5 Jeeps, in that it came down the back of the front seats with a center window.

It was, however made specifically for the '73-75 Blazer.

I'm not sure if the search function is working again, so not sure how you'd find the link.

I just bought a book on ebay titled 69-81 Blazers and there is an old article that verifies there was a factory soft top. What surprised me was they were a cheaper option than the hard top. But i don't understand why you don't see many soft top around. Wish I had one

The one that US body has is for a pick up truck. It could proably be adapted to work. The problem is going to be if that top will line up with the factory K5 windsheild header and form a seal.

do a seach at www.ck5.com Steve made a post in the spring or summer from a guy that was going to make some. There should be contact info.
They do show up from time to time for sale over there. Have to be a member to post. SHould be able to read the for Sale and tech forums though.

CK5 is going to get a software upgrade tonight and not expected to be online till monday night.

My understanding is the soft top was atually made by Best top. I had a friend that had a 71 that was ordered no hard top. You had to delete the option of the hard top. His RPO sticker he said showed the delet of hard top and addition of soft top. He swears it was the top that came with it. His family was the second owners in like 74. I have no reason to doubt him. He's a good friend.

I don't think they offered it much after 76. I bet that's the reason why it went to the easier to manufacture and much more structuraly sound steel roof. It also fixed the major complaints of leaks when it rained. GM didn't see enough special orders for soft top so they figured nobody took the top off. No reason to make the full convertable.
