A/C POA valve

I know someone on here rebuilds the air conditioning POA valves, I have seen pictures of the valve cut apart. What I was wanting to know is, what usually is the cause for failure inside the valve? Is it corrosion, rust or something worn?

FAA Benny (or something similar) is the member that does it.
Classic auto air rebuilt the one in my Caddy a few years ago. Been working fine since.

Re: A/C POA valve

Classic Auto Air rebuilt my C20 POA valve and adjusted it for 134A. Working great so far.
