LS1 horespower
Question:
Does anyone know why the 99 LS1 from a Pontiac was rated lower in horsepower then the corvette of the same year? Also, what changes can be made to get same horsepower?

Go to LS1tech.com. You can use the LS6 intake manifold to start. Headers better exhaust and a tune. Camshaft, spring kit and bigger injectors

They're all the same. Corvette, Firebird, Camaro, just rated differently for marketing purposes.
Typically a bone stock LS1 was an honest 350 crankshaft HP. Typically put down 290-300 at the tires on most chassis dynos.
