Doors painted. Tail gate painted.

Now to remove the windshield and paint the remaining "tub" of the truck.

Top off preparing for paint!

The windshield frame looks fantastic, as well as the rear of the Jimmy. This includes the back of the tub and inside both fender-wells behind the rear wheel.

Good luck w the spray. Do your bed rails also have holes to accommodate a double wall top?

Not really sure where these would be, but the only holes on top are the ones that hold the current single wall top down.

Thanks Bud! I'm hoping to have it painted by the end of next week.

Re: Ptjsk '72 Jimmy Build

The holes would be atop the bedrails near those for the 1x wall top - like a duplicate row of holes but without the associated captured washers. It seems like later 72 Flint K5s had bedsides with only provisions for 1x wall tops unlike earlier and St Louis examples.

Re: Ptjsk '72 Jimmy Build

Thanks! That’s great. No holes for a double wall top. Helps to fill in a small puzzle piece.

Top of windshield frame shows it's in great shape.

Bottom is equally clean too!

Re: Ptjsk '72 Jimmy Build

Windshield ready, door jambs ready, rear portion of bed ready, and right side panel of bed ready for primer!

I should finish the left side tomorrow.

Damn.....this paint and body is a lot of work!

Re: Ptjsk '72 Jimmy Build

First coats of primer a few days ago.

A good solid day of blocking, and then two additional coats of primer.

We'll see how the next blocking comes out, but hopefully it will be the final block.

Cut and rubbed the paint. Turning out extremely well.

Replaced the simulated wood in the tailgate too.
