White body with top different color?

Dunno why I was thinking about this, usually its the other way around. White top different color body.

Anybody running with a white body and a top painted blue or green or whatever?

Re: White body with top different color?

There are paint codes out there, somewhere. Maybe a paint code exists, so maybe a truck painted like the code exists? Idunno. It'll be interesting to find out.

I believe the only way to get that combo is with a Special Paint RPO.

Re: White body with top different color?

Some Yellow K/5 Blazers came with a Black top.
It was a neat look.
Yellow with a White top would remind me too much of frozen banana cream pie.

Re: White body with top different color?

I had a yellow '72 Blazer with black top.

On the white truck with colored top, it would have been as Jocko stated, and I don't recall ever seeing one. To me, that is a look of the '80s trucks when they were trying to do something different. The only combo I would like would be a minty metallic green with matching interior or lighter metallic blue with matching interior. Those are combinations you saw on '60s cars.

Re: White body with top different color?

Yeah I was thinking I doubt anyone factory ordered something like that. And I couldn't remember seeing one someone had done "custom"

Ill have to render one up on the computer. Im sure that will tell me why it isn't a thing =)

Hmmm, I kind of like that. I wonder if it would look a little better with a 67 style paint on the roof ... White A pillers

Thanks! I wish I still had it, Kirk

Now that this combo has come up, it seems I have seen exactly the opposite on "one" truck shown here years ago that was from factory. That is the only factory reverse 2-tone I have seen.

I only like 2-tone if it looks factory. You can do your own thing that appears factory. Otherwise, step away from what the factory did and be truly custom. I like customs all one color or with trick paint. A vehicle all one color shows off the overall body style/body lines best and show what is custom better.

Here are the combinations I talked about in my other post. although the green is not the minty green I meant. The blue is spot-on. It's the green with the same value as that blue. Like my son's old '65 Biscayne Wagon that has a matching interior color

Why is the Official GMC Pace Truck a Chevy?
That truck's a couple headlights short of a full grille.

Wow. No way. I did not know that. I think at one point in the Fifties, Chevy trucks had quad headlights and the GMCs had only two, but I'm not an expert on that period either.
Thanks.

Re: White body with top different color?

73-80 all GM trucks had single headlights. After that, both Chevy and GMC used dual in fancier trucks and single lights were standard. So, '72 was the last year of GMC = dual headlights and Chevy = single.

Yes, like a 67-68 trim or even a pinstripe
