head light wiring

I am going to up the wire size and install relays to get more volts to the head lamps.

Where and how should I tap the high and low beam wires?

I saw some of the harness makers had a plug or 2 to attach to the existing harness. I can not find those local so I may look for one in the pick and pull. Or maybe I should just cut, solder, and heat shrink?

I would just cut spice n solder. I had the kit, was nice, but had a stupid diode and if it burns out then no lights.

What voltage are you getting to the headlights now?

Sorry I didn't do a comprehensive search for you. I did get you to a place where they do have the proper kit if you looked;

I believe you'll want option C.

So related to this thread, I'm wanting to install Halogen bulbs in my composite housings, will I need to upgrade the wiring like 7echo?

You know, I have not checked and should. I do know that they seem too dim. From reading it seems like a lot of guys have this complaint so I was just going to do the relay and larger gauge wire.

My fault!
I did look. But, I looked at the image and saw the wrong connectors and moved on. If I had READ the actual description I would have seen they had the correct one for my truck.
