69 c-10 vin plate location

so i have a question. the vin plate on my truck was removed by the body shop to fix some rust that was around it. the vin plate has not been changed my question is what is the measurments for the location for the two plates that go in the door jam. i am asking you all this because the owner of the body shop that had my truck has passed away so now i am left answering questions and figuring out what was done. i want to state that this vin is the vin that goes with this truck so there is no shady stuff going on with it. i just need to put it back where it belongs. the truck was made in canada if that makes any diffrence. there is a gvw plate and a vin plate. any help would be welcomed

Hmmm looks like no-one wants a piece of this action (Vin plate issues).

With that said, it is a 99.9% bet the body shop did not weld in the (4) rivet holes where the plates affix (2 top plate, 2 lower of course).

So, just reach behind the B pillar with your hand and feel the push through nubs of the filler they used and there you go. Putty knife it off and use an angled pick to push it through the front.

Good luck.

That is such a good idea! I could have come up with measurements but your idea is the most accurate.
