newbie needs help

Greetings everybody. I'm new to the forum. I'm starting my first build and just wanted a push in the right direction. I picked up a 7.4 liter c30 dooley with 84k original miles and want get realistic, inexpensive, reliable power. I know that $$=power but, i just want a cool ride for the weekends dl so I don't wanna go over the top on this one. I already have a towing vehicle. I just like dooleys. Gas mileage is not a concern. I would like to stay away from forced induction but, I'm not unbending on anything. If anyone can give me some basics to open up this motor I would greatly appreciate any helpful advice. Also, i hope this doesnt muddy up the waters but, I'm interested in lowering it as well. Not interested in scraping the ground but I would like a nice aggressive look. Also, i apologize in advance if this is posted in the wrong place. If so i can gladly move it if you can tell me where it should be or if it's not supposed to be here. Thanks
