Re: help with paint

Farm equipment paint that you buy from the dealer usually holds up pretty well.

I can't speak directly for the John Deere Blitz black but the IH red spray can paint for their tractors will hold up to undocumented dairy workers blasting cow manure off with a pressure washer on a regular basis. I rebuilt the fiberglass nose on a tractor on the dairy and prepped it and painted it with their spray can paint and a year later when I left the dairy it was still presentable. I'm thinking about painting the roadster I am building with it. It's a joe low buck car that while it will be finished and detailed to the max the most expensive part will be the tires and tubes.

Re: help with paint

Since my old man has retired, he's does several Oliver tractors with Van Sickle tractor paint. He uses the tractors in antique tractor pulls, parades, and even does a few field days every year. The ones he painted several years ago, still look as good as when he did them.

Don't forget the hardener though, it makes all the difference in the world.

Check out Markeb01 on the 60-66 forum. He has his truck painted with JD Blitz paint.
