Young Bucks How Many of us are there?

I tried doing a search on the treads to see if a thread like this is has been started but i couldnt find one. I am 21 and looking to see how many people in my generation are interested in building these old trucks rather then ricers, tuner, whatever they call them now. I dont know about you but i dont want these trucks to die off they are probably the sexiest trucks ever built. and i know the old timers want these trucks to last as well. plus it would be nice to find people my own age to work with sometimes.

Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?

I am not young anymore but me and my dad did our first frame off in 1991 when I was 19. Now 19 years later we are still doing them. It is good to see young guys still interested in these trucks. Just a warning though, you will probably still be pouring money into them in 20 years when you are an old geezer like me.

Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?

yeah maybe still pouring money in but i tell you what the guys who drew these trucks up wanted something beautiful and didnt have to worry about aerodynamics for fuel mileage so they made them beautiful instead. my opinion worth every dime

Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?

I'm 28, but I tried to get ahold of Grandpa's truck from my Uncle when I was 19, settled for a 1968 Chevelle wagon until I finally got the truck. Little import/domestic cars are great...... for the wife.

Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?

My son is 17 and we started building this truck about 2 years ago. We have done everything ourselves and the truck will stay within the family no matter what. My daughter who is 24 is into these trucks as well. It is great to see the younger generation passing along the passion for these trucks. You will have a blast........

Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?

Okay I think I have you beat as my 3 year old is a gear head already and says my 72 is his truck. He is telling me it has to stay the original color and can't wait to do smokies in it. Already comes out to work on ity with me with no complaints. Got to start them young to appreciate the finer things in life. This is my first build and I am sure I will have many great memories. The truck will be his some day but not to soon I hope.

I'm 76 years young & still working on the old trucks. It does my heart good to see the young people interested & preserving these old trucks. They are about the best trucks ever built.
