Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?

awsome stories so i'll bite. i'm 23 and have been working on cruising and looking at my 71 since i was about 4. my dad bought it from the original owner in 1990 and gave it to me when i was 14 for an early graduation/ bday present. i did my first motor swap when i was 15 and drove the truck all through high school. i still drive it to work everyday. i have so many memories and good times in these trucks i had to get another so i bought a 71 burb amonth ago. i love these trucks!

I'm also 20, had my truck for close to a year now. I grew up around 73-87s but when I got into college, I decided I wanted something older. Now it's my college cruiser, the envy of Shepherd University!

Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?

Not quite...

Actually, it was a shipyard find, of sorts. The guy I bought it from was a shipbuilder in Baltimore.

I am 33 and have the 64 Panel but my son is 10 and has a 75 Chevy K20 and my 9 yr old daughter has a 1950 Pontiac. They work on them with me and my son was the one that paid for and did 45 percent of the rebuild on the 454 in his truck.

Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?

Im the 44 yr old young buck(youll know what I mean when you get there), my dad was the old buck that got me into a '70 c10 with transplanted 400/400 when I was 17. It's hard to believe it was only 14 years old then. Couldnt keep tires on it! Great to see the new generation jumping on these trucks! When you guys are 40, they'll be 60! Keep huntin 'em down and savin 'em, Im lookin at a '68 c20 right now that your kids will love!

I am 27, and feel like I am still a young buck. Good to see there is some passion out there to preserve these trucks.

Well I'm almost 26 and I've had my blazer over 10 years. I'm collecting parts now to start a restoration.

I have owned every body style since 69 and it is by far my favorite!

Re: Young Bucks How Many of us are there?

Im 26 and I've love these trucks since I could pick up a magazine, my first truck was a 83 chevy longbed 1/2 ton 2x4 that I put a 78 3/4 ton 4x4 frame under when I was 16, totalled that and got a 71 K5 Jimmy, worst thing I ever did was sell that truck. when i was 20 I got my 68 GMC longbed 3/4 ton 2X4 but I joined the Army a year later so its been sitting at my parents house for 5 years, this summer I will be getting stationed near them and will start rebuilding it. Im still trying to talk my wife into letting me get another Jimmy but with two project trucks right now she's not hearing any of it lol
