My to do list is...Bleed brakes, install shocks, get it off jacks. Then wire AirPod up. Done. I think...Then, exhaust, rebuild carb, and alignment, remove top and drive.

...The first part tomorrow, second part hopefully within the next week or so.

You can see my front airlines running down the bottom edge of the frame. I am so paranoid of heat I wanted it far away from any source. It's both lines running into heater hose, then spark plug heat sleeve over heater hose. Ugly yes. Melt proof definitely. 20's will hide it.

...I should have a pic of it tomorrow, we'll see what happens.

Awesome...can't wait for pictures and even more stoked for when you drive it....if you get it driving by next Friday or Saturday you'll have to come down to the cruise in here or the Super Chevy show if the weather looks good.

I was hoping to have pics of the truck done and on the ground...Things happen...I need to get the proper lower shock bolts. The ones ECE sent were wrong for the shocks they sent. I need shocks with two large eyes, or, a smaller lower bolt. I can get some bolts Monday for the shocks. Or wait to get the correct ones from ECE...I need new brake lines. The banjo bolt I have is not correct for the ECE calipers I have. I ordered 73 calipers...I'll get it all figured out. Or should I say, Keith will figure it out, then suggest what to do.

That is where the old Chisholm shocks were located. They were so laid back, I'm fairly sure the effectiveness was lost. Until I got onto the forum and started to actually learn how things work together, I always wondered why my truck was so bouncy. The rear shocks were laid down to flat also...Anyhow, I removed the stud and put it in the stock location. But, I'm sure I will go for the TB shock mount and stock length shocks. What I have will not work, and I've know it the whole time. OH WA TAN AS I M!!! Say it fast!

Worth it all...

Fronts are 235/60 rears 255/60...Cross member is on the ground. I haven't really checked rubs or not. With the donuts on front, probably no rubs.

Yes, the little 235's on the front are resting on the liner. I was surprised to see that. I also noticed how dry rotted all my tires are. I was planning on changing tires to 275/60 rear...215/70/15 front...I was looking at Tire Rack for some specs on sizes. My current 235's are approx. 26.1" dia. The 215/70/15's are approx. 26.8...That's pretty close to the same dia...For the rear specs. My 255/60's are approx. 27.1"...The 275/60's are 28". Again, pretty close. All are within an inch or less in dia...I am trying to find a pair of 7in rally's locally. Not having luck with that so far. I'll find them some where...

I still have much to finish up. I'll post more pics soon.

I got a set of rallys. They're either 6.5 or 7in. Not sure where to measure. In side the bead from bead to bead is 6.5...From the top of the bead they're 7in, but that's from mid point in the bead...For $65 for the set, they will work. There are two different trim rings. Not that I care, they will be tossed. I like the style on the left. Not sure if both are GM. The ones at right look GM to me. They are rounded, left one has a flat inner edge...I'll clean them up, rattle one set argent, the other, shiny black.

This was another small task I took care of. I bought the drop shocks from ECE. They have a 1/2in lower mount and a 5/8 upper mount...The Air ride Bracket I will use has a 1/2in upper shock mount hole. Solution, 5/8 drill bit applied to upper shock mount.

The brackets have no mount holes in them. So I punched a couple in them. I may add a third hole between the two.

Those are the 6.5 inch "van ralleys". They should have a 4" backspace. The 7's have a 3-5/8" backspace. The trim ring on the left is a 88-98 ralley wheel trim ring. The one on he right use to be found on Astro van. Good score on the wheels.

O.K. I'll start this post by saying; I can't believe how much time it takes me to get the simple things done.

First pic is of the "universal" upper shock bracket I got from Air ride tech. I got it to save time and effort.

...I had to trim it so that the upper portion of shock would clear. The word universal, when being used for a vehicle means; it will fit nothing in particular, but maybe you can make it fit your application.

The shock is now above the frame rail...It should have the travel I'm looking for. If not, I could move the mount up or down to fine tune the shock travel. The top of the mount is a hair short of touching the wheel well.

I also got the new hoses on and made a bracket to keep things in place. Not sure if this will work yet as far as airing up and down, but it's secure and doesn't touch anything. The bracket is an insulated clamp that I took the rubber off of. I would prefer a better bracket, but I had nothing to work with. I removed a bolt from the upper bag mount plate, mounted the bracket to that hole and good to go.

This pic is showing the route the hose runs. The hose hovers just above the lower spindle nut. If I see rubs then I will figure out something better...I'm ready to bleed the brakes.
Hmmm, looks like I need to do a bit of paint touch up.

Thanks for the complements guys... If it wasn't raining I'd be painting the rims up. I found some nos trim rings, the 1.5" rings that were on 90's 1500's. I have two different sets of center caps I want to try. So yea, the rain can go away now.
