I'm glad to see the bench seat back in it, I kind of miss mine. I bet he was pumped!

Yeah, he was definitely pumped. Truck feels like it is going to run pretty decent. Seemed snappy. Good day for sure.

Yeah, I love my LS. I just drove it a few miles Saturday now that it's got glass in it. No bed, so it's easy to leave a couple black marks on the pavement.

DANG MANG!! That's a might purdy blue!

......I may just have to git me some of that. It will depend on how well it works with the medium blue carpet and blue houndstooth seat cover I already have. I think I'll buy a small amount and spray my floor board to make that determination. That is a toyota tundra color you say, correct?

Thank you. It's a Toyota Pickup color we had mixed into a PPG Base Coat Clear Coat. Has a lot of purple in it so I don't know how it would look with the interior color you already have. Might work though. This is the print out the Paint Store used to mix if you need it.

I didn't use any of the ls harness wiring. I went with a dual fan relay kit from Speedway or Jegs (Can't Remember). In retrospect, I would have gone the ls/pcm route.

The kit has a sending unit that goes into the radiator. I think mine kicks the fans on at 185 and shuts them off at 175. Wiring it wasn't really too complicated.

Thanks for the responses.I did a very similar setup on my '72 previously. On this build ('86 swb) I am "wanting" to use the LS wires if I can figure it out... LOL!!!

I know MDPotter just did that on his build. His thread is titled 1968 GMC - Ol' Blue. Shoot him a message and I am sure he will tell you how he did it.

Nothing real exciting from this weekend. I did get the engine and transmission computers mounted. Went ahead and just mounted it all on the inner fender. Reason being, I don't have much room under the dash with the factory hvac system and I didn't want to run the wires under the carpet. Long story short, I am lazy. Also, I still need to tie some of the wiring down.

Interesting little problem I have been having. Every since we fired this motor, I have been trying to chase down a check engine light showing low voltage to the MAF. I have tried a couple different MAF Sensors without any success. Started trying to figure it out, and through the process of elimination, I came to the realization the MAF connector was wired incorrectly. Just got off the phone with Hotwire Auto and we went over his schematic and he confirmed the B = black wire and C = red wire are flipped.

Interestingly, we are currently doing the same motor in another truck for my nephew and his was wired incorrectly as well.

We test fit the hood the other day and it was hitting the air intake. I had to cut it again and rework the shape. All good now. Also, I got the other inner fender on and my son has started stripping the paint off the bed.

So the boy has been able to work on the truck the last couple of mornings. He has been focusing on stripping the bed sides. He got one side stripped and almost has the other. For some reason, they coated this thing in bondo before they painted it last time. In some places it is ridiculously thick. This is on the driver's side rear corner. It appears to have been hit at some point but really no reason for this much filler.

Anyway, we will get it fixed.......
