"Custom" Wood Bed.
Got an idea from all the wood beds here and came up with this. Box is 6' X 8' foot (LWB). Used two sheets of 4X8 plywood, cut a foot off of each one, coated with 4 coats of McCloskey's weather sealer, covered seams with lattice strips. Bolted to the frame with carriage bolts with BIG washers. Whadda ya think? Does it look ok?

Very resourceful, I like it! Plus were not all able to shell out the clams for a whole wood bed kit right now. Good work!

Looks good! And if you ever intend to use it as a truck you won't have to worry about dinging a high dollar wood bed kit or the metal strips...

Looks good! Might been kinda cool if you made some fake lines with a darker colored stain. Kinda were it looks like planks... Im just thinking out loud...

I think it looks good. I put plywood over my old wood bed & found some black sealer to match the truck color.

You can also add divider strips using the low buck method. Use thin strips of stainless about 2 inches wide and lay out evenly spaced on top of the plywood drill 1/8 holes spaced max of 2 inches and use either long aluminum rivets or stainless button or counter sunk screws. I used the rivet method on mine "diamond plate aluminum" and they pull down and hold surprisingly well in dry plywood...haven't lifted at all in 6 years but I don't haul anything either. If you do use it for work just throw some scrap ply on top of a blanket and away you go >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rushnbobo
