Best gear ratio for lq4 or lq9 w/ 4l65e

What will be the best gear ratio for a 6.0 ls swap with a 4l65e in a 67 c10.
The truck will be use both for city and occasionally highway use.

I'm by no means an expert but it will depend on specific factors on your vehicle. main thing your missing is your tire size. . This calculator might help you.

Re: Best gear ratio for lq4 or lq9 w/ 4l65e

Tire height plays a huge role in rpm. I have a 27" tire and 3:42 in my suburban It needs more rpm for performance and towing. Cruise on freeway it's great.

Same goes for my work truck it has 32" tire and 3:73. It needs at least a 4:11 to work the way I wish it would. Even a 4:56 wouldn't be out of the question.

Play with the rpm calculator and decide what you want most out of the truck. Hwy cruiser or performance hauler. Remember the Denali trucks came with 4:11 and 32" tire and they are quick.

I won't run anything bigger than a 29" tall tire. I don't see myself hauling anything with this truck. It will be bagged and on a PB Extreme drop member

My LQ4 has the 4 l80e behind it along with 4:10 gears. Highway is 16-18 MPG and the stop light to stop light is fun also.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Because I bought the whole setup out of a 04 heavy duty with 70,000 miles on it.

What size tires?

My '55.2 has same LQ4/4l85e combo but 3.73 final rationand 235/55x17 tires so I wonder how it'll do for mpg and mileage as well?

My trucks info is all right here. When I took it to the tunner and put it on the DYNO machine he said the 4L80E takes a lot of HP to operate. My HP # was @290. All stock except for header's.
