Dapper Lighting LED install w the kids

Had a little fun getting the kids involved with helping install OE7 LEDs.

Ps, the lights are excellent. True plug and play.

Re: Dapper Lighting LED install w the kids

I enjoyed your video. Made me decide to get them.
I'm wanting to install myself. A buddy of mine in a shop wants to do it because he said he would have lights run off relays and take load off the switch. He said it would prevent flickers. Do you ever see a flicker of any sort?
If anybody else reading this wants to chime in. Please do.

Thanks!

Re: Dapper Lighting LED install w the kids

Thanks and glad you enjoyed it. We had fun making it.

I had put a relay kit in before installing the Dapper lights, so I can’t say with any certainty of the relay kit is helping.

I did find the relay kit to be an easy install and the headlights even easier (and I’m definitely not an expert on such things).

Pls let us know how things work out for you. And pix please too!

The relay mod should be done no matter what lighting you have. It's easy to do and there are plenty of threads on how to do it.
Takes the load off the switch and gives max voltage to the lamps, making them brighter. Win-win.

Re: Dapper Lighting LED install w the kids

I love these lights in my '72 and I had installed them before my relays - there was no flicker. I think the LEDs would draw less current than the original incandescents but I don't know for that to be a fact. I know after I installed the relay kit I did not notice them being any brighter - which actually is good since I am pretty sure if they were the road ahead of me would be scorched and I'd start wildfires LOL

Side note: I did have one of mine burn out but Dapper replaced it pretty fast and no trouble at all. So if you are wondering how they support their product after the sale, rest assure they do! All they wanted was a photo of the old lamp with the transformer cut off - they did not want the old lamp back.

PS: Luckily all my "helpers" have all grown up and don't want any part of working on my truck LOL
