Lokar cable linkage and 4L80? Header and column shift options?

I was ready to order headers and the Lokar cable linkage for column shift clearance but I see in the instructions it says it won’t work with 4L60 or 4L80 so I’m back to the drawing board. Any other options to run medium or long tube headers and a column shift?

I run the Lokar column cable shift with a 4L60e. I don't see why it wouldn't run with headers either. The mechanical rod linkage setup for Lokar may not but I'm not sure on that.

I'm running the long tube Speed Engineering headers and using the Lokar solid linkage. Works perfectly on my 4L80e. I know some have had to bend the shaft some to make it work. You can see pics in my build thread.

Is your truck a column shift?

I could not even get the Lokar cable shift to work well with my column shift and a 2004r trans. PM me if you are interested in it.
