Texas Patina 1963 SWB

Well I bought another truck. 1963 swb. Been sitting under a Texas shade tree since 1998 and the family had owned it since 1970. Was running when it was parked in 1998. Trying to get her running, so I can used left over parts from my wife truck.

Re: Texas Patina 1963 SWB

Got the truck last sat, has a little rust, but pretty straight. Has great old paint on it. I got the original 6 running last week to. Gave her a little bit of tune up, new gas tank.

Plans are to leave all patina on it. Leave as is and lower it were I can drive and my wife can drive it to garage sales. Instead of her driving her truck too much, 1964 swb.

Found some parts, trying to decide if I want to change my grille out for one of these that I found in a barn. Found old bumper guards. My grille is dented a little bit. Would like to find old smash hit front bumper to match rear smash hit bumper that is on the truck now.

On to cleaning interior up, putting rubber mat back it and seat. Then off to figure out how low I can go on suspension.

Redder than red !!

I love it.

Hope my truck turns out 50% as good.

PS. I absolutely love the bumper over riders too.

Maybe one day, or even when we come to the USA in October, I may find a set.

Re: Texas Patina 1963 SWB

Thanks, got her all tuned up and inside cleaned up and fuel system cleaned up. Runs good.
I need to decide if I want to change the grille to aluminum one in pic or do the c60 grille or just leave the one there in it. I got a set of the original white bumper guards I need to put on. Hopefully this week I can start getting it lowered.

Nice build....your wife's truck is very nice. We probably going to need a build thread on that.

TJ that's the plan, get the power disc brake lower spindle kit and lower it and just drive. I may park my other patina truck for summer and drive this one for a while.

Re: Texas Patina 1963 SWB

I would like to, but I don't think I am. I am going to try to keep it pure patina. Nothing new paint wise anywhere. Going to keep all new paint away from this truck. I like the painted insert but I don't want to do a faux finish, I want it to be pure patina as much as I can. The trim is old patina trim.
