Hey Guys
Who makes the best repop body side moldings with the chrome strip for these trucks? Can you still buy OEM? Thanks for any info |

I know lmc has a bad reputation, but I bought a roll of the cut to fit molding 6 years ago, and it’s held up great. Cut to fit was the only option for new molding on my crew cab.

Re: Best side moldings for a 97 1500
I re-did all mine a few years ago when I repainted my truck. I used LMC's front bumper strip and a kit of pre-cut for the sides. Now 3-4yrs later the sides still look great, the front bumper chrome is completely gone. It was gone after a year, so I replaced it. 2nd one had the chrome gone within a year again. I gave up.

Re: Best side moldings for a 97 1500
so, my first LMC front bumper has lasted 10 yrs...looked great.
i bumped it with the engine hoist when doing the motor swap...the replacement i just recieved didnt match the holes just right and a tang sheared off, then a second...both being on the return sides of the bumper. so now the whole driver side ends is loose and hanging...i may give panel glue a try, taping the bumper at the line i need, installing and then removing the tape. |
