Truck Worth?

friend was moving and needed his 69 C20 gone so I gave $1200 for it. nice blue patina with surface rust, 100% original 350/th350 wood bed, trailing arm, coil rear suspension that surprised me for a 3/4 ton. original wood bed, power steering, A/C cab, currently non running.

Re: Truck Worth?

really? you must be from northeast where roads are salted?
this truck is very solid, one small hole on each side in cab where floor meets kick panel, otherwise, rockers, roof, fenders, cab corners, all solid. wood bed needs replaced, tailgate is solid, one small ding where something was dropped. it might sit alongside garage and maybe it will grow on me and keep it? don't really need two trucks, but its pretty cool and rear coils might ride better than my stiff sprung C20 in the garage.

If that was 1/2 ton I would be all over it.

At the time you bought it, it was worth $1200.

Re: Truck Worth?

Hard to base value on a board that is basically international . That truck here non running about 6 to 7k but where you are there are lots of trucks with no rust so the price would reflect that.

Re: Truck Worth?

Here in our rust belt, that truck , non running is worth the sum of it's parts. Solid 95 % rust free cab and doors will fetch 2K easy enough. Add up all the other stuff, and you find out quickly that you are in the black on this one by several hundred. Especially with a clean title.

yes, clean title.
You should see some of the trucks that sell here for 4 or 5 k . Rust buckets to say it kindly . If I didn’t have 4 already I might have taken you up on it .

Exactly, there are some real piles for sale around here that have 4k - 5k or more asking prices, like Mark says. A mostly rust free, dry truck has a lot of appeal when most of what you see is rusted so badly.

Re: Truck Worth?

That is about the price of what rusted out crap goes for around here.

If I saw that truck local it would be in my backyard that afternoon.

3/4 trucks are pretty uncommon in my area as well because not many people in the city needed a heavier duty truck.

Once you bought the truck, per board rules you can't ask what it is worth unless you are a premium member. Also, you can't offer it for sale unless you are a premium member. Upgrade to a Premium membership and post it in the "Trucks For Sale" forum if you decide to sell it....

Thanks,
LockDoc
