What seats do I have?

I just bought a 72 Blazer project, and the seats need recovered. I assume they are recovered sport seats. I just want to make sure that I order the correct covers.

Do the reproduction covers require the plastic seat backs?

Thanks.

Re: What seats do I have?

They might be recovered utility buckets. The underside parts look right. But the upholstery is weird and they have a metal backer (not vinyl).

Re: What seats do I have?

What is the dimension of the mounting bolts on the driver seat?

Re: What seats do I have?

It's going to be a couple weeks before I can get the driver seat measurement.

I found a picture of 73-77 buckets that look similar, but they don't quite match. Most likely they are utilities with upholstered covers. Thanks for the help.

Re: What seats do I have?

Utility buckets do not have tapered sides on the backs.

Re: What seats do I have?

they look like utility seats.....the original ones have a metal back that looks like the one on the left...

the one on the right is a sport bucket that had the plastic back replaced by a vinyl cover...
it's from a '70 as seen by the outward release hook

This utility seat is from a '71....it has the center and outward release as well

Re: What seats do I have?

I took the seats apart, they are Hi-Back seats someone cut the tops off of. The frames look similar to the sport seats, except they don't taper towards the top. I think I'm going to order new foam and modify the frames if I need to.
