Re: From the San Francisco Bay Area

I am new to the Bay Area and, despite joining this forum over 6 years ago, also new to posting. I found this thread when searching to see if there was anybody nearby (I'm currently studying at Stanford) working on a restoration project. I have a '72 K10 pickup that I've had for eight years now. I bought it in good shape from someone who had done a lot of restoration work on it already, but there were a few things (mostly rust spots in the usual places) that I ignored over the years and can no longer put off. Being new to the area, I wanted to reach out on the forum to see if I could start to gather some recommendations on places to go to have work done? I would like to try to do as much on my own as I can, but being a student living on campus I don't have a garage of my own to work in which really limits my options. I found a DIY style repair shop in Santa Clara where I currently have the truck sitting. If anyone who responded to this Bay Area thread earlier is still working on a project and has any advice to offer me I'm all ears. Thanks!
