Changing the oil 2018 6 cylinder silverado 1/2 ton

My first oil change 7,000 miles. I searched here a little and could not find any guidance. Not too worried about it just been a while since I have owned a 6 cylinder like 40+ years. I just was looking for the smoothest way to do this. I have all the tools the filter and the DEXOS oil btw. I am pretty sure DEXOS means 10 more bucks!

Well I got her done. Next time I will remove the plastic thingy under everything 4 bolts because the oil drains all over it. Think I got it cleaned off. I was glad I had the right oil filter socket with a foot long extension and ratchet. My 8 cylinder was easier and the wife's 2016 Sonic is a breeze but you have to jack it up to get under it. First car that I remember having where the oil comes straight down.

Glad you got it worked thru. I do not understand why the engineers ALWAYs put something in the way of the oil drain on newer vehicles.

To make you bring it to the dealer to have it done.
