Car/Truck covers

Purchased the top of the line cover from Sealskin with a ten year warranty, didn't last six months (see pic). They instructed me to send them $35 more and they would send a shipping label. I was then to send the defective cover back, wait 2 to 3 weeks and then they would send out a replacement if they deemed it their fault!
Why would I want another garbage cover so I requested a refund and was denied.
So.....If anyone knows of a better product please let me know.
Thanks

Re: Car/Truck covers

I don't know an answer, but this calls for some bad review broadcasting. Do others a favor and post a thread in the review area. Not only a crap product with false claims but also basically non-existent customer service to be putting all "their" burden on you at your expense. That $35 should be refunded when a replacement is "deemed", but it doesn't look that way. "Here's an extra $35 for a job poorly done?" You didn't make a crappy car cover, they did. Ridiculous!

Last I knew Kimberly Clark's Evolution 3 (?), or whatever their top dog is, was the best

Re: Car/Truck covers

Thats not good, I'd take it further up the chain of command in that company.

We had really good luck with covercraft car covers.

Re: Car/Truck covers

I’ve had a few of those “grey” covers. All garbage in my opinion. I still have one at my storage spot. I’ll se what brand it is. Far as I’m concerned they aren’t worth using for anything but covering a project truck to keep the dust off.

As mentioned above, the cover craft covers are pretty good. I have on my Blazer that came with the truck when I got it in ‘08. Still looks as good as the day I got it. It sees both indoor and occasional outdoor use.

Re: Car/Truck covers

I second on the California Car Covers. Have one on my truck and had their covers on my Nova and Camaro when I owned those. They are not cheap but good quality.

Re: Car/Truck covers

These companies all make a variety of covers. Good, better, best, as well as for different purposes. It's more about what material it's made of than who made it in my opinion. CCC came out as the biggest and best company, but there are others that are just as good and not as expensive that use the same fabrics. You didn't say what your intended use was. For some reason I was thinking outside storage, but now that I think about it being you and that truck, you probably keep it inside and it's a dust cover you need. I have used Covercraft covers on vehicles stored inside and they were a quality product.

Re: Car/Truck covers

Thanks for all the replies. I'll take a look at CCC.
I was really disappointed in the lack of customer service, all the fancy advertising and nothing to back it up. AND NO REFUND. Pure garbage.
I'm actually using this to cover my brand new 19' mustang until I can free up some more indoor space. Car/truck doesn't matter when the product sucks.

I really like Cover Craft car covers. Man that's a lots of "Cs". Anyway, they make many different types of covers depending on your needs. https://www.covercraft.com/us/en/vehicle-covers

Same mfg. cover for my Challenger did the exact thing. Just started splitting up like your pic. They already replaced it once from the first one I bought

This is what they sent me concerning replacement:
These covers have a 10 year warranty, which means within 10 years we offer a free replacement as a back up cover if anything happens to the original cover, ONCE only. Nothing we buy will last forever but we do the best we can do for our customers

Re: Car/Truck covers

They might as well offer a 100 year warranty if they only have to replace it once

Re: Car/Truck covers

So it's defective in 6 months and they give you a new one that lasts 6 months. So they sell a 10 year warranted product guaranteed to last a year. You just gotta love that modern lawyer driven American business model. It's all about the pen & ink rather than integrity any more

Re: Car/Truck covers

I did suggest they offer a LIFETIME warranty, why not. 6 months, one replacement (you pay the shipping) and they are done.
And they wonder why they get trashed on line.
