Re: short or long water pump

With the alternator on the drivers side, it should be a short water pump.

Re: short or long water pump

My '69 396 has the alt on the driver's side and a vintage air compressor on the passenger side. The water pump is a long shaft and the bracketry is an Alan Grove Setup. When I got my truck the engine and brackets were disassembled and in milk crates and zip lock baggies. Thank goodness I am good at jigsaw puzzles.

Re: short or long water pump

ALL trucks with V-8's from 1967 to 1972 had short water pumps from the factory.
