305 or 351e V6 factory tach?

I'm thinking of purchasing a 67 gmc with a 351e engine. Did those ever come with optional tachometers?

I would think so. I put a 6 cyl tach in my 67 with a 305

Was it accurate? So a 6 cylinder tach is good for inline 6 and V6 engines?

Re: 305 or 351e V6 factory tach?

It seems pretty close, but have not had another tach hooked up to verify. The tach head doesn't know if it is an inline or V-6, so you should have no trouble as long as it is a 6cyl tach.

I believe you need a sun 6 cyl transmitter box for the tach to work, and they are very expensive!

Mine just plugs in like all the other 67-72 tachs. I know the earlier 60s tachs needed that box.
