New shoes

Thanks to this forum I procured a set of 16x7 steel wheels from one member, the hub caps from another, and found the vinyl wrap for the hub cap detail from a third member!

The tires are LT265/75/R16 E Cooper AT from Walmart. Cooper tires are made in Ohio and I suspect this is just an older model they make for them. Best deal I can find on USA made rubber at $127 each. Ride nice and quiet.

Re: New shoes

Those look great! I remember when I got my 72 custom camper the first thing I did was buy new wheels and tires and just threw the originals (wide rears that everyone’s always trying to find) away. It ended up costing me about double what I had paid for the new ones to track down some original wheels and caps and get them shipped.

Beautiful truck! Nice score on the hides, thanks for sharing! They're down to $118 dollars a piece!

Re: New shoes

I bought new cooper tires for my c10 last year from Discount tire. I told the guy helping me that I wanted tires made in the USA. I thought they were a better deal than the goodyear wranglers. They ordered them and called a week later and after they put them on the truck I looked on the tire and it said Made in Mexico. I was disappointed and let the guy know and he was surprised too. Oh well they are still on there. Mine were 15". Those look good on your truck.

Re: New shoes

I thought I saw the USA stamp on it but didn’t think about it since I know where cooper is in ohio. I’ll have to check.

Mexico is better than China I guess!
