Hello from NW Florida

Saying Hello to all. Looking forward to being a part of this group.
A quickie on me is as follows...43yr old USAF retired guy thats got an illness for the rusty stuff. Have a 28 Tudor in the works right now and a 63 SWB stepside that's in my cross hairs. That actually brings me here.

My details are few...have yet to go really comprehensive on checking the truck out here's what I got so far.

The passenger side rockers are shot both inner and outer. Rt and Lf doors are mangled up and will need some serious straightning or replacements @ $500 each if I get lazy. There's two beds, one with spare and one without. I'm thinking on making this 100% original in some previously unappreciated color like that crazy sea foam green from back in the day...maybe a white top for the two tone look. Straight 6 and manual trans...believe it's all there, not running so that rebuild will be a crap shoot. It'll need to be a frame off resto for me to be happy. Well, if you care to weigh-in...I can get this at $500. deal or no deal?

Welcome to the forum. For $500 it’s probably worth buying. Whether it’s cost effective to restore depends on what you find in the rust and damage department, your experience, abilities, and budget. Often it can be a big savings buying a truck in better condition that doesn’t need as much work. Rust repair is the most expensive aspect of restoration unless you can do it all yourself.

Welcome to the forum

I'd say $500 would be max I would pay, and only because it comes with an extra bed. That passenger side door and cab corner look pretty hammered.

Re: Hello from NW Florida

Thanks guys for chiming in. It'll be some work for sure. I'm still not fully decided on the purchase. I'll let ya'll know. The 28 Ford purchase is at the forefront of Mommas memory...this rusty p/u may not be worth risking it.
