Trans mount spacer

There is a 3/4" spacer between my trans mount and the transmission. I keep it in place when I switched from a TH350 to a 2004r trans. I'm wondering if this came stock and if I should keep it.

Re: Trans mount spacer

there are 2 steel spacers or shims, from the factory on my big block 72 C-20,probably an inch or better wide,1/2 or 9/16's thick, between the mount flange on the tailshaft and the transmission mount.i never had seen these in any of the trucks i had in the past but assume they're there for the driveline angles to be correct.i can get a picture of what mine looks like for you if that helps.i re-installed mine when i renewed the mount.
