Re: Project Roxy

Here are some updates. I have been out to sea alot lately, and have a pregnant wife right now. Our first little girl. so i work on it when i can. I kind of put it together and rolled it outside to work on my buddies c10. My buddy got me some time on a frame table, so i had my frame straightened out. It was dog tracking abit. so 9 hours on the table, its straight as an arrow now. Here are what i have for pictures and updates right now. Its just a frame at the moment.

Re: Project Roxy

SO my final geometry came out to 8* caster, -1* camber, wheels centered in wheel wells, and 11" drop in the front, 7" in the rear(for now). I/C and Roll Center came out pretty close. Still think i am gonna add a +.5" upper balljoint to improve R/C a little bit.

Re: Project Roxy

Great looking truck, nice to see someone put a supercharged engine in their c10 instead of a ls motor.

Re: Project Roxy

Looks great man. Is that tube on the outside of the frame an outrigger for the cage or something?

How far off the ground is your lowest part? (I am wondering how low I want to set my ride height right now)

Re: Project Roxy

The tube out rigger will eventually be where my cages attaches. It has alot more reinforcement to do first. My frame and control arm shafts are about 3" from the ground, and the coil buckets are about 1 1/2".

Re: Project Roxy

Built the base layout for my center support section. Still need to connect them and add a driveshaft hoop. It's all built from 3/16 steel. Still have to the back half. But making progress.

Re: Project Roxy

Thanks man.
Also, for ride height, I have 3" under frame, 4" under control arm shafts, and 2" under control arm pockets. Now I need to notch the front frame rails to raise my Sway bar up higher.

Re: Project Roxy

I've made some progress.. dont have any pictures uploaded. I put a 9" in it with 4:10 gears and Detroit Locker. 3 linked the rear and put it on coils with adjusters. Right now I'm stalled, as I was changing some things on my engine and found metal in the oil pan. Further inspection showed I wiped out cam bearings.. so rebuild here we come..

Re: Project Roxy

Roxy is a beast. I love that you are building the chassis to be so rigid. She should handle good.

Re: Project Roxy

Thanks. I'm hoping she handles as good as i think it will.. weight is still an issue so we will see after this. Just need to finish up the other projects in my driveway and garage so i can get back to work on her.

Re: Project Roxy

Dayummm... I am stoked to find this thread. Love where you are going with it. I just picked up a 85 in Cali and its on the way here. I ran 20x10s all the way around on my 67 and it took some figuring out. I love the idea of the Jeep SRT8 wheels. Been looking for something different and these never crossed my mind. Hella killer fab work too, very impressive thought process going into making everything work. I am in for the long haul. Retired Navy myself - I built my 67 over 2 sea tours. Its tough but, you are crushing it!!! Cant wait for more updates.
