After ages of pulling my dipstick out and allowing oil to drip on that top plug wire, the outer jacket has separated from the rest.

I think those were 8mm.

What brand are you guy's running?

WOW look how crusty that plug looks!

Long ago I separated the sections from between the header ports and used copper gaskets...no leaks!

I use these and have had good results. They are cut to fit which I like because you can route them the way you like and not have 15’ of extra on each wire. They also have ceramic spark plug boots which are great if you have headers. You’ll need a good set of spark plug crimping pliers like these https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-900399

Ive been using AC Delco for 1975 Corvette: proper length and terminals for HEI and can be run factory route with rams horns. Corvettes had rams horns til mid seventies i think.

I used Accel 4048 8mm yellow plug wires with 90d boots for mine, p/n 4048 (~$40 at Summit). These are pre-assembled for most SBCs with HEI & exhaust manifolds. I swapped a couple of wires out with 45d boots from another set as they cleared the headers better on a few cylinders. I also added a set of Summit spark plug boot protectors to shield them from the headers (SUM-350119). I believe the sleeves are woven fiberglass and are about $48 at Summit, but I've seen cheaper sets on Amazon.

Those Summit ones look like a good idea to me.

I actually found the receipt on mine from Shuck's and was going to see if O'Riley's could match them up, but when running points I always had Accel yellow wires and liked the look.

90° boots on mine all the way around.
