I put the '88 Chevy split bench in. Don't mind the tools on the floorboard. Next is a rubber mat!

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

We're in the mix of a MAJOR storm and I had to use my driver. Judging by the refills, the wiper system probably hasn't been used in decades. I bought some replacements - yeah right, they're nothing but rubber with a clip and don't work. At any rate, I broke out some spare OEMs, and they fit like they're supposed to. So I ordered another two pair.

The wiper system was a bit slow, but with use it recalled its former glory. I had removed the wiper arms months ago, but since then the truck promoted from thoughts of parting it out.

In hindsight I'd have lubed the joints some. That and WD-40 the spindles where the arms attach. I dried them by hand, but WD was the ticket, plus they'd have been easier to attach.

Moral of the story is you can buy OEM refills, don't give up on these jewels, and even when chances of success are high, take the time to do it right the first time.

Looked at it nestled in the garage....snow and ice on the ground still and its way to cold to do anything to it anyway

Low 40's then it dropped down into the 30's but I got the booster installed and the push rod adjusted and I now have power brakes on the Ramp Rat!
Took it out and filled it with gas and drove around to check the heat and deforst it worked good.
Brakes did too!

Safe to say they did a good job? Didn't realize these could be restored, but I'm beginning to realize there's a specialty for everything. Mine hinges look great, but after 40 plus years, seems a tune-up is in order. I did buy a RH NOS, but the rivets are a bit different than original, and I've pretty much given up on the LH side...............

Willie rebuilt mine a few years ago and they work great. He will do them right.
You can always buy those $500.00-$600.00 Billet ones though!

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

After a lot of deliberation on rim and tire size choices I picked up this set of CUCV Blazer 15 x 8 rims. Going to run 31s with these and install hubcaps. Though not correct for my 68 50th it will give the "stance" I want. Thanks for all of the input from folks here in helping direct me on this.

I drove it around in the snow and ice, 47 years young, 12 since I have owned it. I wonder how many Toyotas are doing that? Ha, not!

I hooked up the battery tender. The reality of winter in NH has set in, the roads are covered with sand and salt, and it it won't be going anywhere until April at the earliest.

I have new front springs in the garage, and will be installing those sometime in March.

That's a pretty floor alright. I am curious though about the closed in area in the left front area of the bed.
