Thanks for the compliment. The ol girl has a 462 BB in it to boot.

It's up for truck of the month but I don't think she will win. Wish she could but I think the completion is tough.

Is that a non-shade-band windshield? If so...Where did you get that? Install it yourself?

You just gotta have at least the truck in the photo! That's a requirement.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Welcome to the board!

I've been enjoying the short rides to the dump, think I'm going to have to replace the starter, had to roll start her the last 3 times I've drove it! traveled about 70 miles (one way) a few weeks ago to pick-up tires for my Sonic and pick up some tile for the laundry room that a co-worker gave me - the suspension that is 47 years old needs some work! My co-worker told me and my wife that he loved the truck, my wife replied "it's a money pit!" He said "but all the money you put in it will come back if you ever sold it". I don't think she realizes that I only have about $1k in it right now (spread out over almost 2 years). Nothing I have done has been real expensive so far. I don't know where she gets "money pit" from?

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I went to a swap meet & picked up a couple of items.

The emblems just because I haven't seen them with my own 2 eyes. The dash panel because I might decide to put a modern radio in it & want to have a factory uncut dash if I went back to factory. I like choices.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Not a darn thing! I've run out of excuses for not getting started painting the family room and the wife laid down the law today. Woe is me.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Well, this WEEKEND I got the a/c mounted, mounted two computers, installed the padded dash, mounted the new fuse box, and pulled the wiring harness for the LS3 thru the firewall... It's just laying on top of the engine for now. Oh, and I also installed the radiator core support. A little touch up on the paint, and then the radiator goes in and I can hang the inner fenders and do my plumbing!!

Gave her a good ole dish soap wash in the rain, let mother nature do the rest. Setting up a welding table and a Millermatic 211.

Did some playing around with that welder, its one slick machine!

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

well for the last two days been going through motor plastic gauged all the bearings , wire wheel , wire wheel , paint stripper , wire wheel , wire wheel , oh and did I mention wire wheel . it almost looks like new cast in most places . the stripper really helps take the caked on baked on grease along with the old paint . it came from a 1 ton cube van with 76 thousand on it super clean inside super filthy outside . four bolt main haven't run the head numbers yet guessing nothing great but I did drive it before I yanked the engine seemed to be pretty snappy in that huge tank so should be good in my c10 . oh and I ran a tap down every hole I could find with a thread in it I use old bolts in the holes to seal em from the paint but takem out before the paint dries so I don't pull paint chunks when it dries
