A square body truck piece is a whole lot easier to find and fits pretty close but the back end doesn't match up and the lower corners of the front are mismatched a little. With a little fab work you could make one fit if you have a hard time finding a good 67-72 piece.

The T-56 is the same length as the 4L60E so the shifter should be within the high hump tunnel area.
The trans in the pic below is a 4L60E. The worst thing you would need is an offset shifter handle to push the lever forward away from the front of the seat a little.
