Re: Project "49 No Buck$"

Hey Brad I'll vote for ya, bumped into you and/or your truck yesterday at the GNHR show. Your truck is almost famous!!!! Good talking to ya. Could have spent all day !!! but to many cars I hadn't seen, almost need a weekend pass to really see them all.
We were only suppose to be there a few hours and then back home early (hahaha)
Thanks
BB

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"

You guys get way too excited! Alex told me I couldn't show it until I get a few things done and somehow hide the hideous paint job. This will be a bit different than the 49 because it'll be painted nicely when I'm done. Going to do a bunch of, this is how I did it stuff and it'll be really cool! Think (here's a hint...) 80's Southern California drag boats, only lower than in the day!

I went to ebay and typed in 62mm so I could make it tight enough not to leak and found a brand new '69 CB750 Honda piston for $19 w/free shipping! Now I need to make a mount that uses the wristpin and that's all done. I'm having way too much fun!
What did u use to hold the piston from the inside?

I drilled I think 5 holes in the parameter of the skirt. I then screwed it into the rubber gasket. I'd filled up the little oil holes in the piston with JB Weld then ran some silicone around the piston/gasket edge on the inside. No leaks and fits tight!
