What started out as a simple engine swap kinda got outta hand. Word of advice, NEVER pull the front clip off to put the engine in! Once it's off you'll see things that you'll want to replace, change or redo. Sooooooo this simple weekend engine swap turned in to a full frame off. New air ride, engine, paint, A/C, you get the idea. Made a quick trip to MaxBuilt Autoworks and the rest is history. This shop is top notch! And now, here come the pics. Here's what I started with.

Re: Fawnzie

Okay, replacing the control arms seems pretty easy, also should probably convert the front to disc brakes. Lets add some rims too.

Re: Fawnzie

After putting everything back together the static drop i had, I kinda over calculated. Pancaked crossmember, 2.5" drop spindles and drop coils with a coil cut was a bit much. f#!k it, lets just bag the thing!

Re: Fawnzie

Loaded on the trailer and headed to Indio, CA to Maxbuilt Autoworks. The engine you see is the first replacement engine, a 350 that I put in. Needless to say it wasn't in there long.

Re: Fawnzie

Once I got to Maxbuilt Autoworks, they made quick work of getting the front end striped down.

Re: Fawnzie

Got the firewall smoothed out. The firewall panels are made by Slosh tubs. Great quality, I highly recommend.

Re: Fawnzie

Thanks! I'm running out there today to drop off the 700r4 and the headers. I'm gonna grab a bunch more pics. the body should be in primer and the chassis should almost be done. For the cali guys, it will be at the Brothers truck show on July 7th. Done or not it'll be in MaxBuilt's booth.
