Are you sure on the 1/4" fuel line? I had 3 lines, brake, 5/16" fuel, charcoal canister. Got rid of the charcoal cannister

Another little neat trick with the fuel pump rod is to remove the 3/8" bolt on the front of the engine just to right of the fuel pump, you can see the rod when the bolt is removed, and install a longer bolt but just tighten it finger tight against the pump rod that will hold her for sure.

Good lookin' work trooper.

Holy crap! Voices from the past Nice idea on the bolt, didn't know that. I started to take that bolt out, but heard weird noices(crunching and crackling), so I tightened it back up. We should start a tip of the month thread

How's things with the Jimmy?

After all the 'small parts' comments in the other thread, it got me to wondering how you've been doing with this project. Anything new to report? I can't tell you how much the pictures have helped me figure my truck out. Thanks for being so detailed!

You're welcome, and thanks for watching! Jon's a funny guy, and thanks for having a sense of humor

I'm off to my Mothers 90th birthday, so I don't have much time, don't think she would understand my delay...

I'll try to post up in the next couple days, old and new problems arose, but progress continues

Gotta love having the edit button back

Re: PO has me PO'd

Here's some pics. of what I'm into...

Alum. fuel line. Found out that -6 and -8 AN sizes are uni-flare, meaning a 45° flare tool will work. After seeing what happened to AJ's engine, I left a piece of rubber fuel line after the fuel filter that can be clamped off to run the engine out of fuel and work on the carb. Still waiting on the last of the fittings after the fuel filter, it is a 150° bend so the rubber hose doesn't hit the cross member

After alot of help, including diagrams, from the electrical guys( thanks VetteVet) I decided to send the harnesses back to M&H for the mods. Still under warranty, should be back in a couple weeks. Got the mechanical side of the water pump plumbed, so that is a plus

Interior is still pending, samples arrived, exactly as original. But they included a green color, and that threw a monkey wrench in the works

Clocked my alternator, another problem, since the armature came outta the brushes. Realized there is a hole thru the brush holder and rear half of housing to insert a rod to retain the brushes and allow you to reassemble the armature. DO NOT separate the field windings and rear half of the alternator, bad things will happen! You only have to pivot the front half to get the wire locations correct

only $75 for a 10x30 spot with passes to get in and out with your driver. I might bring the RV up there for a little party..

Minor hi-jack Jim but it's my turn anyway...

So Mike, when is it?

I really do have a lot of stuff I could bring down, my trailer would be full.

You offering me a bunk in the RV?

Re: PO has me PO'd

hijack...

7-9 Aug

www.carsatcarlisle.com Special-K (Tim Hicks) has three spots near the truck shop (california) and usually has a cot in his area. IF I bring the RV then you are more than welcome to crash. I will probably only be there on Friday and Sat (fri night) since I live 45 minutes away and sunday is kinda dead.

Yeah, sorry that it worked out that way, but it got me to thinking how can I prevent this from happening again

How about using electric shears, anything without sparks

You know my house is always open to you...candle burning in the window for guests. I get done work at 00:00 friday nite/saturday morning. I'd be honored to pull your fat arse around in a wagon at Carlisle

Re: PO has me PO'd

Couldn't stand it any longer! Had to mount up my new fenders...couple shims here and there, also have to file lower fender mount hole, but not a bad fit for OEM to Repop. Nice work Tri-Pro!!! Gotta wait on mounting the grille and core support, need access to engine compartment
