Mount mirrors to doors

What is the best way to mount tripod mirrors to doors. Has anyone used the rivet nuts? If so do they hold well..

I am a huge believer in rivet nuts. All the mirrors and many other non-structural parts are held with these on all three of my cars. Get a good tool and use the proper size drill.
